Virginia has sustained a commitment to delinquency prevention
since 1979 through the creation of a statewide network of
Offices on Youth. The
Lonesome Pine Office on Youth
advocates for the needs of youth and families with the
objectives of positive youth development, empowerment of
families to solve their own problems effectively, identification
and coordination of local resources, and through these efforts,
the creation of safe and healthy communities which prevent
delinquency.

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR GAP ANNUAL AWARDS
The Gap Partnership is seeking nominations for Citizen and Business of the Year. Deadline for nominations is January 23, 2010. Nominees must be citizens or businesses of the community, 18 years of age or older, and not a previous winner.
Names of nominees, reasons for nominations and the name, address and telephone number of person making the nomination should be mailed to The Gap Partnership, PO Box 236, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219 or taken to the 101 Car, the Tourist and Information Center located beside the Country Inn. Nominations may also be emailed to gapcorp@verizon.net.
